That Missing Link

I found my little cross yesterday,
lying there all forlorn,
The chain had broken months ago,
and no longer could be worn.

I picked it up and looked at it,
could there not be a way?
Was it really beyond repair,
or needing fresh eyes in a brand new day?

I looked very close at it and found,
that the end ring had come undone,
and once that was replaced and closed,
the circle would again be one.

I found another tiny ring
to place at the chain's end
and wonder of wonders, it was small enough
into the chain links to bend.

That's all it took, that missing piece,
putting it back was all I need do,
and then the necklace was complete,
it had been made brand new.

It reminded me so of how I was,
before Jesus came into my life,
and provided me that missing link,
that would erase all the sadness and strife.

And when the chain was made whole again,
filled with all that was good and true,
then Jesus sent you into my life,
so I could fall in love with you!

Now every day makes a full circle,
starting and ending with love,
God's blessings surround us anew each hour,
we share each gift given from above.

Now every time I fasten the clasp,
it will remind me anew
of all that I have - treasures so rich,
all because of how much I LOVE YOU!

As I read, it was easy to envision that chain and how you so carefully repaired it. It is easy as well to see the circle of love you two share. Beautiful.
