Marriage

Watching the softball game last night,
was such an amazing thing,
for we were behind and all looked lost,
no victory bells were going to ring.

The bases were loaded, there were two outs,
the batter at the plate,
the ball floated through the air in slow motion,
as if it didn't want to know its fate.

The bat connected, the ball flew up,
could it, would it be true?
So high and far out in the field it went
a grand slam, we suddenly knew!

Oh, what a feeling to watch them come in,
runs one, two, three, then four;
such cheering and laughter at this turn-around,
for we now had the winning score!

How that reminds me of how I feel
each morning I awake,
for I know that my day will be full of joy,
I'd be the winning run across the plate.

Jesus came into my life and then,
transformed me from the start,
and then He gave me a brand new love,
to have and hold in my heart.

Now every day is a joyous win,
a victory sweet and new,
for God gave me the best prize of all,
because He loved me, He gave me you!
