Marriage

I opened the gate hidden in a wall,
a secret garden lay quiet inside,
all was ready for a lovely wedding,
with you always the groom, and I the bride.

The path ahead was strewn with flowers,
their fragrance filled the air,
and the birds chirped softly among themselves,
So pleased to have been invited there.

i walked down the path to see what was there,
and there came into my sight,
a little bower just covered with blossoms,
and the inside was aglow with light.

Suddenly you stepped out from the bower,
oh, I was dressed in a gown so fine,
and now I knew I was seeing my dream come true,
I would be yours and you would be mine.

We walked into the bower of light,
knowing that Jesus was there,
and He would be the one to join us together,
placing us each in the other's care.

Oh, what a wonder to see this,
our wedding-story told so new
and such a lovely reminder to spend my day
telling how very much I LOVE YOU!
