I stood upon the shore one day,
the sun was sinking low,
and watched the waves, silver and small,
in their constant ebb and flow.

The waves further out curl over,
such a lovely sight,
like lace stitched on a silver sheet,
the froth caught the evening sunlight

Tiny waves crept up to my toes,
Oh, so wet and chill,
I could step back and not be touched
the waves only go where God wills

I wanted to make that connection
God reaching out to me,
and the waves on my toes like the touch of His hand
all I needed to set me free.

The waves remind me of our love,
endless coming to shore,
big and small, they will always be there,
how could I ask for more?

I don't just want to dip my toes,
I want to jump right in,
and immerse myself in the ocean of love,
God gave me to remind me of you!

I give thanks with joy every morning,
the last thing at night, too
that every day, like a new wave coming in,
I get to show how much I LOVE YOU!
