Marriage

I went out walking again this morning,
and at the corner, what did I see?
My favorite bush with the huge trumpet flowers
blooming there just for me.

The flowers are so large they would fill my hand
I can imagine playing on them a note or two,
and the melody would float through the air,
warmed by the sun and drenched in the dew.

I can imagine the angels playing trumpets such as these,
when Jesus first created my new life,
and again a chorus playing a beautiful song,
the day I first became your wife.

Now I see them yet again
reminding me that if I have ears to hear,
that if I listen very carefully,
the angels, unseen, will again draw near.

The melody is faint, each note sent from above,
each note sounding so pure and sweet,
heard only by my heart full of love,
celebrating the circle of joy made complete.

First there was Jesus who rescued me,
and my one with His love became two,
He saw deep inside the desire of my heart,
and that's when He brought me to you.

Jesus is now the beginning and end,
our circle of three is connected and done,
and now with His love and grace poured out on us,
our two hearts have now become one.

Every morning I will wake and hear,
a sweet note sounding faintly, the same but brand new,
and know that Jesus has given me this day,
so I can tell you again how much I LOVE YOU!
