Questions like these were in my head,
Holdin’ me down, like some great dread;
Then it occurred, a thought to me;
When I thought it, I could see,

What if you never got your answers?
Would it be like some brain cancer?
Eatin’ you up and killing you;
Makin’ your life seem out of cue?

What if you only knew of God’s love,
Found in Jesus; is that enough?
Would it be like a man reborn,
Or would it be your heart’s scorn?

Once I had thought this, then I prayed,
“Why did this need get in my way?”
My need for answers was a hold;
A huge desire for control;

Then I saw the big conclusion:
Controlling the world is an illusion;
So when I question, do I slip?
Then I remember that big ol’ ‘if;’
