Marriage

I went out in the garden yesterday,
and looked for what we had planted,
to see if any had started to grow,
if our hope of future bounty had been granted.

And there behind the plants we had put it,
just pushing up through to the light,
were baby plants, come from the seeds,
what had been dead had come back into sight.

They look so fragile, and somehow not quite done,
as if God was not finished with them yet,
there they stood, tiny green heads bowed down,
for with His touch their life would be set.

How that reminded me of how each day begins,
not quite formed, who knows what it will bring,
but God, in His wisdom, has it all planned out,
He pours out His gifts, and my spirit can't help but sing!

I sing for joy for all I've been given,
and for things yet to be discovered brand new,
and most of all, I thank my Father above,
for giving me love when He gave me you.

Each day begins like that tiny plant,
in God's garden there is always room,
and as the day goes on, the touch of His love,
gives it life, and there it is, suddenly in full bloom!

What a joy it is to be part of His garden,
warmed by His sun, and watered by His dew,
and to bloom with the flowers that are fashioned by love,
a bouquet of my heart to give to you!
