Marriage

I opened up the door this morning
what a surprise it was to me,
the warmth had gone, the chill was back,
this is not how it is supposed to be.

I thought that we were done with winter,
with days all gray and cold,
I look at the calendar and it says April
that should be spring, so I am told.

But then I think, well that's ok,
this chilly day is a reminder to me,
and when the warm days return once more,
they'll be all the more precious to see.

Meantime I will look inside,
to the summertime in my heart,
where the sun is warm, the air so soft,
and a new loving day is about to start.

I will have the same count of hours,
and the temperature doesn't matter at all,
for the important things are kept in my heart,
and joy is mine whenever I call.

Jesus filled my heart with new things,
that day that He rescued my life,
and brought us together, to be as one,
you my husband, and I your wife.

The wonder of that is warm like the sun,
it sparkles like gems and gold,
and unlike everything else in the world,
our love just will never grow old.

I will thank God again this morning,
for all the joys that He gives me anew
and spend the rest of my minutes and hours,
showing how very much I LOVE YOU!
