I submitted this well over a year ago as a 'Challenge article' - just thought I would put it out here too. It was one of my first poetic endeavors after re-dedicating my life back to the Lord several years ago.

"AT HOME" IN HEAVEN

Are you ready for the rapture?
Can you imagine just flying away?
Would you be "at home" in heaven?
If the trumpet sounded today?

When that eastern sky splits open,
And the glory of heaven comes down...
Will He find you watching and waiting?
Or will He find you out on the town?

You said a little prayer a long time ago,
And you "hope" your salvation is secure...
But, did you become a new creation?
Has your heart been cleansed, for sure?

If you can't even go to the Lord's house,
To worship and give thanks for His love...
If you don't read His Word and pray daily,
Then you won't be "at home" up above.

For in heaven, we will praise Him forever,
And we will never be sad or alone
We'll rejoice in our lives ~ everlasting
And give worship to the King on His throne!

So when Jesus comes back for His children,
Will He find you in the world ~ full of care?
If you can't be faithful while on this earth,
Then you won't be "at home" up there.......
