Crucified With Christ
You make it sound so easy
This Christian life - to live
You say it’s all about Jesus
And what He died to give
I find it’s sometimes hard for me
Still, I have not attained
This victory in Jesus
My garments are still stained
Oh, I have my mountaintops
But valleys soon rebound
Is it a lack of faith in Him
That brings them back around?
Have I been crucified with Christ
Do I let Christ live through me?
Or am I still living for myself
Without faith as my guarantee?
Do I try in my flesh to succeed?
Or do I faithfully call on Him?
When I am weak and humbled
When my hope is growing dim
For if He lives inside my heart
He is there to be my guide!
What I must do is “rest in Him”
Cares of the world must be denied
To be identified in His death
Is to be crucified with Christ
Now He must live through my life
Anything less, does not suffice
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV
