"Lord?"

"Yes, My child?"

"I can't find anything, in Your Scripture,
about disappointment."

"It is there, child."

"Well, yeah, I guess, Lord. I just
haven't been able to fetch something
out of that concord thing."

"Keep looking."

"Here's some stuff about 'distress',
but that really wasn't what I was looking
for."

"And what was that, child?"

"Well, I guess I'll just lay my cards
on the table, and tell You."

"Absolutely, child.
Lay them down at My Feet."

"You have feet, Lord? I didn't know that;
I thought You were a Spirit.
Well, to get back to my latest kvetch:
The disappointment I have is in You, Lord."

"Ah, I see."

"This week I've been very disallusioned about
You; I guess I had begun to see You as Someone
I could go to with dilemna."

"And, that I would fix it."

"Well, not right away, Lord. I mean, even
YOU need some time to get things together.
I wouldn't expect......"

"Miracles, precious?"

"Yeah, well.....yeah. I guess so, Lord."

"I see."

"I don't like feeling this way about You, Lord.
Christians are always telling me to
'Pray about it', no matter what the problem is.
They seem to think there's some kind of
spiritual helpline that they can reach 24/7."

"You need to pray, My beloved.
That is all."

"Well Lord, this praying thing doesn't
seem to be working for me. Maybe, I
need to get a better high speed connection."

"You don't need anything else, child."

[Teary silence.]

"I'm sorry, Lord. I don't want to
hurt Your feelings. Well, I just thought
I could come to You with.....well, with
ANYTHING, and You would show me the
way - or some such ......"

"Nonsense?"

(Silence.)
"Yeah, I guess."

[SILENCE.]

"I just don't know what to do, Lord,
about this specific problem. And,
I'm not getting any help from You."

"Read My Word, child."

"I don't think there's anything
in there, about my eh, issue, Lord."

"It is there, child. Look."

"If You say so, Lord:

The wilderness and the dry land
shall be glad,
the desert shall rejoice and blossom;
....rejoice with joy and singing.
....They shall see the Glory of the Lord,
the majesty of God.
Strengthen the weak hands,
and make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are of a fearful heart,
Be strong, fear not!
Behold, your God
will come with vengeance....
He will come and save you.

Those are beautiful words, Lord.
I just don't see them for me."

"You will, child.
I am your Lord."

"Okay, Lord. I'm just feeling
very tired....and worn out."

"Who is strong, daughter?"

"You are, Lord.
You are. Good night."
