When the test is over,
And all hearts revealed;
What is true of us
No longer concealed,
We’ll hold in our hand
Our eternal grade;
Knowing what we did,
What our faith has made;

When time is over,
And pencils are down;
Did our faith give way
To a white holy gown?
What did I learn
And live while here?
Did the trials that I went through
Make me draw near?

Did I abandon
The Lord who had sought me?
Did I trust in Him,
Who sought to set me free?
Did my fear move me,
To make me wait and pray,
Or did I scorn Jesus,
Thus falling away?

These questions answered
By the God of renown;
We’ll know how we stood
When pencils are down.
