There is power in praise! It changes things. It moves heaven and earth when godly people glorify the Lord. Praise is wonderful spiritual warfare. The enemy and his army does not like to hear the voices of the saints lift up the Lords name in praise. It makes them run the other way. Praise uplifts our hearts and gives our soul freedom. It makes God smile, it makes us strong.

The Lord is looking for a people in this generation to make his name known through all the earth. Praise starts in our hearts. Its an outward declaration of an inward knowledge of who God is. Its an empowering action that moves Gods heart and awakens others to Gods goodness and sovereignty. Its a way to pray to God, to cry out to Him from the inmost part of our beings (psalm 103:1). The psalmist commands his heart to praise God. He wants to please his God and glorify Him with his mouth. Psalm 108 is so beautiful, it declares that we will make music for the Lord, and it talks about all of the instruments used to make the music; harp, lyre, cymbals, etc. but the greatest instrument used to praise God is our voice! Our voice forms the words that declares the beauty, power, majesty, and faithfulness of the Lord! Almost all of the psalms make mention of Gods wonderful attributes, worthy of praise and honour and glory! So many verses in the psalms say “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever” Psalm 106:1, Psalm 118:1, and many others have this sentence in it. Gods unfailing love is reason enough to praise Him. Others need to know how great our God is! Lets lift up our voice and declare it, shout it out among the people, sing of his goodness for all to hear! Lift up praise and thanksgiving to heaven, the Lord hears and is delighted in our voice. The angels rejoice right along with us, as we worship the Lord of Lord, the King of Kings, the Maker of heaven and earth!

DEAR LORD-THIS YEAR, MOVE OUR HEARTS TO GIVE YOU PRAISE EACH DAY. DRAW OUR HEARTS, LIFT UP OUR VOICES TO GIVE YOU HONOUR AND GLORY. LET US SHOW THIS LOST AND HURTING WORLD THE BEAUTY, MAJESTY AND UNFAILING LOVE OF OUR GOD IN HEAVEN. WE KNOW YOU ARE PLEASED BY OUR ACTS OF WORSHIP. WE PRAISE YOU, GOD, FOR YOU ARE GOOD. YOUR LOVE ENDURES FOREVER!!
