Loneliness
In the stillness of the lone midnight
A place of darkness with no light
A haunting silence; loneliness
With nary a hint of deliverance
It can’t be found in this dark abyss
The darkness crowds, suffocating
The loneliness, it’s celebrating
Mocking wildly in your mind
A glimmer of hope you cannot find
Within the darkness; you’re entwined
A stream of light you’re grasping for
Just a little warmth and no more
To pull yourself out of this pit
You struggle hard, you cannot quit
To total darkness; you won’t submit
A cry so mournful to God alone
A song of repentance to be atoned
Escape from sorrow, isolation
Searching for light in desperation
There in the darkness; comes salvation
With the new dawn - arises hope
No more dangling at the end of the rope
Jesus came to rescue your soul
In His hands you’ve been made whole
He poured in His light; the darkness stole
Now loneliness is a foreign word
Sweet fellowship the Saviour stirred
With His love, your heart is filled
Trust and Obey, He softly instilled
With radiant light, the darkness; He killed
