Alone Inside Myself

I was alone inside myself
With no hope, no joy, no peace
Then Jesus took my broken heart
Poured in such sweet release

Lord, I asked; “why would you want me?
For I so deserve to die”
I look through a glass darkly
And cannot understand why

My sins are ever before me
The devil holds them in my face
“Child, you must forgive yourself
And accept my eternal grace”

He softly whispers in my ear
“Yours is not to question why
Simply welcome My gift given freely
Know your soul will never die

Trust Me, keep my commandments
In My perfect love; abide
You have been chosen personally
To be my beautiful bride”
