Humility and love, gentleness and mercy
you came in a manger, instead of a throne.
Born at an inn, instead of a palace
rode on a donkey, instead of a steed.
Humble hearts loved You, worshipped and adored you
exalted you as king of their hearts.
The proud dishonoured and defiled your name,
they did not truly know God at all.
You are the King of Glory, the God of the Heavens
they majesty and power reaches to the skies.
Yet, You came as a poor man, lived amoung sinners
chose to be persecuted and eventually died.
Lord, you are holy, Lord, you are worthy
but Lord, you were humble, your postion was meek.
You walked through the trials, all because you loved us,
you came for the broken, lowly, and meek.
God bless the last ones, the sweet, humble shepherds
who in their hearts truly understood
that you were a king, not just a poor man
that you are God and you are good.
Now you reside in a heavenly place,
joy and delight always on your face,
once again a mighty king
Lord and ruler over everything.
But your heart is still in that manger
that humble beginning, so long ago
because thats how you came
so the whole world would soon know.
You are our salvation, you are the Light
You shine through the deepest and darkest of nights.
So Lord, I praise thee, and bless Your Name,
you came for our people, Your beloved You claim
