Merry Christmas! Wow, all day I have been having fun getting gifts and buying a few and listening to pretty songs on the radio, but I am ready to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas! 2006 years ago a baby was born in Bethelehem. It may not be the right day(december 25), but this is the day that we celebrate Jesus birth and thank God for His awesome miracle. And how appropriate that its at the end of a year, where we can reflect on this year and thank God for that baby that made our lives better and our eternity certain if we believe in Him. I thought I would just share a few thoughts on the holiday and invite you all to let me know your thoughts as well if you would like.
How to be a wise man(woman) !!

God does not choose the intellectually wise people to show His miracles to. He shows His miracles to those who seek Him and want to know Him! The wise men may not have been the most important people of their time, but they were holy men in their right who wanted to get to know God better. So God showed them a secret that would soon be revealed to all the world. Not many people would believe that a baby born to a poor couple on a dark night in a barren land was a miracle. Actually most people would not think so and if you believed it was, they would think you crazy. Thats why God chose these men, He knew they would believe. These men truly knew God and His charactar, and that He worked in mysterious ways. Because of these wise humble men, Jesus had a pretty nice birthday! Some people actually showed up to celebrate His birth :)

How to wait.....
Yeah there is no secret, you just do it!! Its sometimes really hard to wait for our Christmas presents(no matter how old we are) we sometimes have a hard time waiting. Today i will admit, when i went in the room to change the kids diapers, i took a peek at my presents! Great example for the kids, eh? lol. I couldn't help it! Lets talk about a man who waited 80 something years for Jesus! Thank goodness we get Him right away! His name was Simeon. He was an 80 something jewish man, very holy, loved the Lord, and he believed that the Lord had told him that he would not die until he saw the Messiah. So He did, and God chose Simeon to prophesise over Jesus as a baby. He knew that God was true to His promise, even if he did make him wait awhile!!! Not a real long complicated story, but a good example of how waiting is well worth it, and that our God has perfect timing.

Why this time in history?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus was born when he was? I kind of have. He was born in a time where there was a lot of war, but there have been a lot of times like that. We may never know exaclty why Jesus was born when he was, though we sort of know why he was born where He was. I can tell you one thing though. The world of today is as lost as it was in Jesus time. Lets take the time this Christmas to celebrate Jesus by sharing Him with others! The "Light of the world" was born one cold dark night. His light can shine through all darkness but He uses those who know Him to take that light into the world. Lets light a "christmas candle" this season, maybe a real one if not one in our hearts, one to shine for Jesus for all the world to see,
