Marriage
The following poem was written for the "Wintry World" romance contest:
Ever Green
The gentlest whisper floats
through the evergreens,
wordlessly caressing my heart.
Please tell me true,
do you hear it too?
Or will you let me fall apart?
There is staying power,
truly ever green.
But Love, how strong are the branches?
I need to know
how deep the roots grow.
Is it worth taking my chances?
I'm blanketed by that
warm whispering breeze,
ever green in a world so cold.
But will this love,
when push comes to shove,
stay green when winter storms unfold.
