"I sought the Lord, and He answered me, he delivered me from all my fears."
-Psalm 34:4

I have been learning recently that though we need to be delivered from a lot of things, one of the most important things that we need to be delivered from is fear. This is beacause fear makes our lives a mess, we cannot live a faith filled life while having fear. Faith and fear are like oil and water, they cannot be together. Or maybe they are more like gasoline and a match because the REALLY cannot exist together, LOL.
Fear drives out our faith. But the GOOD news is "perfect love cast out all fear!"(1John 4:18). And the love of God is more powerful than any fear! When you seek God, he delivers you from your fears. When we recieve the love that God has to give us, the fear goes away. Good cannot exist when there is evil, and evil cannot exist when there is good. So when we meditate on the word of the Lord and the goodness of The Lord, the fear has to go away! It is "driven out".
The psalmist in Psalm 34 is witnessing to the goodness of God, and how the Lord answered him when he sought Him out. And then delivered him from one of the greatest setbacks there is-FEAR.
Fear keeps us from living the life that the Lord has for us. But the LOVE that the Lord has for us drives that fear away. ANd the nice thing is, we don't have to do anything. Just trust Him. Put our hand in His and walk where He leads, trusting the whole time that the Lord is our shepherd, He will lead us along the right path. And that along the way He will deliver us from any fears that we may have. Just because we seek the Lord, the Lord who is good!
