I FORGIVE YOU BECAUSE OF HIM

Long again he climbed that hill
Long again his blood was spilled
His blood is still new this very day
Cleansing all the grime away
Helping me and helping you
His blood makes us all brand new

Today, I shed some tears
Just wondering what I did to deserve
The bad and lonely treatment
Of Satan’s horrible touch
He hates me so much
Because I am a child of the King
Where I am going, he can never enter in

Then I remembered for many long years
I had resisted
As long as I exist
I must resist
The enemies touch
I must stay bathed in the Word of God
Hugging Jesus and all his love

Women are tempted and swayed
It’s like I’m in a hammock
Swinging back and forth
I scream out
"LORD HELP ME"
Slow it down
Let someone stop this ride
So I can get out and hide

Instantly this tiny little hand
Reaches up from a manger
The whole universe was made at his command
My world is stilled
I say “forgive"
He says, “I will”

Even though I am so human
And only a woman
God gave me power over temptation and said I could
Have control over it by staying bathed in His Word.

No matter what you do to me
I must forgive so you can see
If I don’t forgive you,
He won’t forgive me

You see, I am planning to see
The finished product of me
He began in me a new work
Many years ago
As a small child in the hills of the Appalachian Mountains
He taught me how to drink from the eternal flowing fountains

And drink I shall
Until I hear this sound
"COME HOME MY CHILD"!
