WHAT OF FORGIVENESS?

Tis a brand new day my Father,
Here I am again, it is me
I must come to you on bended knee
I need a touch from your Son
I need his blood to cover over me

Another time, another hour, another minute has gone by
I’ve messed up once more
Sin has opened my door
Off in the distance somewhere
I can hear a satisfaction sigh
It is not Father and it is not I

In total desperation, I call out to him
“God help me, where are you”?
I feel myself drowning in a sea of prayer
The waves are coming at my soul
The very heart of me cries, “Jesus, please forgive me,
Looks like sin has taken its toll

My adversary, the devil laughs at me, Ha, ha, ha
Quickly he answers me
With a, “no, no, no, my friend
You are guilty, guilty, guilty
You’re guilty from the beginning
This time, it is your end”

Then guilt covers me from head to toe
I sink to my knees in despair and pain
My tears make little ringlets of splashes
Across my knees and on to the floor
Hitting like the monstrous drops of April rains

My body kneels crumpled and burdened,
It's like a stone has been tied around my heart
My knees dig the squared tiles of my kitchen floor
In fear and shame
My hands hold my face
My soul is tortured with so much pain
The white flag is out
Looks like this is the end of my race

Then suddenly a voice speaks to me
Seems like it’s coming from my crystal chandelier
It’s a quiet, soothing voice,
Like none other I have ever heard
So much love and so much care

I am quickly brought back to my senses as the voice says,
“Mary, where are you, Mary, where are you”?
Then I lift my face to the heavens
As my lips tremble the news
“Why, I’m here in my kitchen down on my knees”!
Then he says, “Open your eyes, look up and see
The throne room is yours, what do you need”?

His grace is sufficient for me.

Heb. 4:16 : Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We may at any time approach the throne, knowing that our high priest Jesus Christ paid the price. This is where forgiveness is found. Jesus precious blood covers over me.

The throne of grace is a seat of Mercy... No longer do we depend on the blood of sheep and goats to validate our forgiveness. At this throne, the blood of Christ has validated our right to enter and be assured of our forgiveness. The grace of God gives us what we need and cannot earn by any kind of special deed.
