Adam and Eve wanted the evil that God wouldn’t let them have, so they did what they wanted and not what God wanted. They left God’s work to do their own and they received death. The Lord then sent them away to learn that the greatest love is sacrificial love.

Abel did the Lord’s work, Cain did his own work. Abel got the blessing for doing God’s work and Cain wanted the blessing without doing the work or giving the sacrifices that God requested. Abel received his inheritance and Cain received nothing.

Abraham gave up his life’s ambitions and blindly went out into the wilderness for the Lord and did God’s work and received his inheritance in paradise.

Jacob did God’s work, Esau did his own work. Jacob received the blessing and inheritance, Esau lost everything.

I will not continue with the list, read your Bible and see how the story goes. Those that do their own works and not God’s works, lose everything.

We show our faith (belief) in Jesus Christ when we sacrifice our own desires and trade them in for His desires.

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
