Today or tomorrow?

We think we know what we want today, but don’t plan for tomorrow and then feel badly. Though we try to take our lives into our own hands and fret and fume, it is never an easy thing.

Our friends may be here today and not tomorrow. They may change their minds from one moment to the next or simply face trials of their own. No matter how we try to help, sometimes we are powerless because only God can be their help.

We take our lives for granted quite often. I remember when my son was growing up, I would always hug and kiss him even when he was a teenager and in a rush out the door because our lives are not our own. We don’t know when our time is up.

Jesus says in Hebrews 13:18 that He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is the one we should trust and no other. We get discouraged and still must keep trying! Isn’t it great to know that no matter what our circumstances, God is always there and never changes?!!

He also says in Deuteronomy 31:8 that He will never leave us or forsake us, don’t be afraid or discouraged. When your friends and family let you down, God is still there in the midst of the storms! What a wonderful promise to us!

There are many hurting souls who need to know you are there. A card, letter, call, word of encouragement is all they need and you need to be the vessel God uses! Tell them God loves them, that might be all they need to hear that day and it will make a path for other conversation.

Don’t let hesitation stop you from doing the right thing today. Put your best foot forward and be careful what you say that you might glorify God. Then—don’t be surprised if someone says they made it through the day because of YOU!

Will you do your part today and not put it off until tomorrow? Someone’s life—even yours—may depend on it!
