SEASONED WORDS

I have learned in my life to expect the unexpected, be prepared at all times for God’s blessings and never give up! There are times we try very hard to be accepted, accept others the way they are and always think on the good.

Often we are discouraged by what others say or do, and also what we have said or done. “Open mouth, insert foot”. We must choose over and over each day to make a difference in the life of someone we are with. Whether it is a spouse, a co-worker, a friend or anyone, we need to realize that every word we speak can bring life or destroy.

If we expect to make an impact so our lives will be remembered by others, we must do as God expects of us and be kind. We must also remember to not be hasty in judging others and speak with love so our words will not upset anyone.

Our example, how we live our life, will determine the legacy we leave behind for others to see. Won’t it be wonderful to be remembered as a person with many good qualities instead of someone who was always upset, unkind, uncaring, negative etc.? In the same token, we must also try to think of the good in others because there is always some good. If we cannot think of anything good to say about someone—don’t speak but pray and ask God for guidance. Eventually, there will be something good

In our lives we face many obstacles that stand in our way and we must remember with God’s help, we can do anything! Philippians 4:13 says “I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength” Don’t be quick to give up but push on and accomplish much!

If our words are seasoned, we will find they are pleasing to others, make them smile, bring encouragement and on and on. How much better we will feel if we can accomplish that! All anyone ever needs is a caring heart, a listening ear and a word of advice and/or encouragement and a sincere prayer. Many are suffering or hurt and need someone to care. Will you be that someone?

Friends aren’t good friends unless they care, listen and help. If they do those things, they will find many blessings. There are trials along the way, but rewards are even greater!

Life is uncertain. We never know if we will see someone again. When we say goodbye to them at any time, we also want to be cautious that we have not acted in anger and have loved them and said so.

Seasoned words are a special part of life. They are a choice YOU make! Choose your words carefully and think things through before reacting to any circumstance if at all possible every time. The end result will be less conflict or misunderstandings.

Do you season your food? It tastes much better if you do! God’s word seasons our lives. His word is our daily bread and He expects us to love Him, love one another, read His words and pray each day. In our times of devotion, even if just for a few minutes, remember to pray for guidance and ask God for “seasoned words”. You will find life more enriching and satisfying if you choose your words well and others will want to be around you.

Follow these guidelines and you will reap the rewards with a full, satisfying, love for others and your life will be blessed. God bless you
