While standing at my kitchen door
looking at the chicken pack
Which I remembered once, were baby chicks
now full grown, in the yard, in the back

They had gathered to eat, the food I threw them
beaks plucking it, up from the ground
When all of a sudden, one jumped another
then went feathers, flying all around

But, an wise old rooster interevened
and went to the other's rescue
As if saying to it, leave him or her alone
it's kin, and they belong to this crew

He then went back to eat again
probably thinking, it was over and done
But, the squawking's again, caught it's attention
for that chicken, had the same one on the run

Once more the rooster went, to it's rescue
flapping his wings, in discontent
Taking charge of the fight, to bring it to end
and soon that chickens, strength was spent

I was so amazed, by this roosters wisdom
only a simple fowl created by God
But, the instinct it had, was what I saw
that a Mighty God had put inside

Now we as humans, he gave much more
and is his wisdom hid from us
Do we not have, the same right to choose
when our enemies push's us to fuss

Can we not stop the squabbles
that's between our sisters and brothers
Should we not want them to get along
by making intercession, for one another

Which is going to God in their defense
so to bring peace, and not war
That will make them want to eat together
in his house, rather near or far
