Do I only Know God, when all is going smooth
and there is, no need left to fill
For my heart is getting, everything it wants
and all around me is calm and still

Then suddenly the winds began to blow
bringing everything that it can
What happened to the joy that overflowed
question? Do I still desire to stand?

Can I only praise God when the sun is bright
no dark clouds, hanging overhead
When everything is clicking, around the clock
and before me, all the goodies lay spread

But what about when things go wrong
and everything, is going haywire
Winds beating against me, every which of way
can I still say, that I'm for hire

I asked myself, do you really know God
is it only on a sun filled day
Do the clouds full of troubles, take my joy
why can't I still say, that it's ok!

When the car runnings smooth, in the right groove
and every one of my bills is paid
Refrigerator stacked, every cuboard packed
the little heart saying, you got it made

The word reminded, how Satan went before God
to put Job his servant on the spot
Telling God if he, would remove the hedge
he'll see if Job loved him or not

Well, Job's love was truly tested
He refuse to count God wrong in any way
His faith was proven, through it all
and his heart knew, the right words to say

He held onto his integrity
never giving in, no not one time
Which brings me back to, do i know God
will I keep that kind of mind

Will I let God prove his works in me
or will I mummer and complain
And in troubles say, that God is still good
and will love him just the same

It's already said no good thing, will he withold
from them that walketh upright
And that all things are working for our good
and every word should be my delight

For we must be tried, in the good and the bad
so God's purpose, will be done
For he needs a vessel, to work through
so to glorify his Son

Where "rubber meets road." Can we praise in the bad times as well as the good? Great question, haunting challenge! Job oh Job, such inspiration you have spread abroad.
