One after noon, my eyes fell on-
a few birds that were eating that day
and to my amazement, something took place
that made it hard for me to turn away

A small bird was putting food, in the larger birds mouth
it's beak plucking it, up from the ground
and I watched with joy, filled with awe
as the bird searched for more all around

Now why can't human beings, do as much
what is the problem we have with this
These little creatures of God, were being so wise
I was so glad this sight I didn't miss

It brought a thought about a man in the bible
who was rich, and it was, beyond measure
and about the poor man that was hungry
that didn't have, the earthly treasures

But then one day, the rich man died
and his eyes looked up from hell
For he watched the servant eat crumbs, that fell from his table
as the words in the bible did tell

He had plenty to share with the servant
but he was full of selfishness and pride
So God required, of his soul one day
but the poor servant was welcomed in side

Today people are grabbing, stuffing and saving
plotting and stealing, is now what they do
Not caring anymore, of anothers welfare
can you see, that this, is something new

They say all that matters is I've got mine
it's not my fault that others are poor
Their fat calf in their house, they won't share
they refuse to open, up their hearts door

Not one piece will they give out
rather they want it themselves or not
This is what, that is happening now
they much rather see it rot

No ears want to hear, that's better to give
they have closed down their minds
When once before their eyes were open
but, as you can see, we're in another time

Today they will tear a building down
and some family is put out in the streets
But in the buildings space, another eating place
who cares if, they have a bed, or sheets

God has saw the sadness of many hearts today
in how some don't have no where to live
Food wasted in trash cans, in back alleys
many have forgotten, on even how to give

Why not make somebody, happy today
show a little kindness, it will not hurt you
You'll be surprise in what, a little can bring
after you helped somebody else to get through

Then you can say to God, I've done my part
I did what you wanted me to do
Although I don't own, a mansion on a hill
but I did this, because of you

I will tell someone they are special
and not look at the bad they have done
But I will seek for a way to ease their hurts
so that they can enjoy the sun

Life's bitter cup can be a drab
if I only live it just for me
But when I can make a difference in this world
then it becomes, sweet, as can be

We shouldn't want to be like the rich man
but pray that God, will fill us, up with love
Not saying that we don't have it
But lets get a little more from heaven above

So just in case someone steps on your toe
you can go and soak them for a while
and if again they refuse, then give a little room
for God to deal with them, as a child

Hate has never, been the answer
selfishness, will make you lose out
Pride is a downfall, that never will stop
so pray to God, for a much, better route
