I Need Your Peace
Oh Lord, give me Your peace
Make the noise of my mind cease
Too much confusion and chaos abound
Your still small voice they drown
I long to hear what You would speak
Quiet my mind so that I may seek
You, Oh Savior, who calmed the sea
Quiet the raging storm within me
I need You, My Lord, so much
To be soothed by Your gentle touch
Restore and renew a right spirit in me
Forgive me once again is my plea
Deliver me, Oh Precious Son
Protect my house from the evil one
Guard our hearts and our minds
Rescue us from our fleshly binds
Body of Christ,
Greetings in the name of Our Lord.
Too often our minds are filled with everything but what we need. I am often(almost always) guilty of the same. I have fought and struggled to quiet my mind to hear what God would have me know. You know what, I was wrong. It is not my fight nor struggle, I have but to ask, seek, and knock and I will recieve. I know God wants me to hear His quiet voice, so my prayer aligns with His will, quiet my mind(and soul) that I may hear and align myself to Your will and calling.
Tonight it was more evident in my life that I need to pray for peace in my mind, my life, and my household. Sometimes it is difficult to believe that my home is a Christian houseshold with kids fighting and screamin with my wife and I following suit. You find yourself caught up in the flesh during these moments. These are when God turns up the volume a little so He is heard. "Peace, be still" It worked on the disciples, it worked on the storm, and it worked on me.
We should always pray for peace. Pray for peace! Peace in Jerusalem. Peace in the Middle East. Peace in America. Peace in your home. While your praying for peace here and abroad, it is easy to forget to pray for peace within. So I am praying for peace within me and I pray that the Lord gives peace to you as well. God bless you all.

Phil 4:6-9 (NAS)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
When the God of Peace truly reigns in your heart, although there may be turbulance all about, you will dwell in His Peace - which surpasses our ability to comprehend. This moment came on my day of repentance - the day I allowed myself to truly accept my Savior's forgiveness. I will pray this for you, my friend and brother. Know not only the gentle voice of our loving Lord, but that also of the deceiver and that constant companion 'self'. Our fight is not against flesh and blood - yell that out loud if you need to to thwart the enemy attack. (It works for me:) Jody
