My little girl is hurting,
And there’s nothing I can do.
To stop the pain, to heal her hurt,
Only Jesus can get her through.
I’ve tried so hard to lead her,
To the One and Only Deliverer.
But because of her unbelief,
Her tears are flowing like a river.
She’s not a little girl anymore,
She makes decisions on her own.
But it’s so hard to see her in pain,
To see her facing the problems alone.
Long ago when she skinned her knees,
As a young and tender child.
I soothed her pain and made it better,
And was rewarded when she smiled.
God, I continue to pray to You,
To touch her bitter heart of stone.
Please tell her how much you love her,
Let her know she’s not alone.
I feel like the relentless woman,
Who begged for her daughter, life anew.
She asked but for some crumbs,
She felt unworthy of Jesus to pursue.
She didn’t give up on her blessing,
And Christ rewarded her for her faith.
I’m going to follow in her footsteps,
And continue for my blessing, to wait.
Holy Spirit, please save my little girl,
Hold her tight in Your loving hand.
As her Mama, I can’t stand her hurting,
And only You now, can help her to stand……

This is lovely... filled with sorrow and pain but also filled with hope. I have sons, but I too know what it is to watch in sorrow when they refuse to submit to God. But we will hang on to hope, knowing our God is compassionate and that He hears our cries for our children's salvation. God bless you. Linda
As much love as we have for our children how much more love does God possess for us and for them. Our prayers keep his eyes and hands forever upon them, leading them back to him. What a wonderful and heartfelt poem this one is.
Julia, I can feel the pain in this one from the parent's heart. You have captured the essence in writing of feeling helpless while watching a daughter hurt, but leaning on God, and being persistent in prayerful petitioning of the Heavenly Father to deal with the daughter. This is a keeper for sure. Many a child has come to know God because a parent would not let go of persistent prayer on his or her behalf to God. Thanks for sharing. Thomas
