The beginning of a new year is always a time for new changes. Since life is synonymous with change, this coming year our life will either improve or worsen. And it depends on positive changes we resolve to make.

I'm not suggesting that we remove and change everything. The call is to be aware only of those parts of our self and life that are in need for change. Often we get caught up in the mundane we neglect to see what's no longer growth-producing.

That's why there's a need for deeper reflection before the new year comes. It's review time. Where really are you going? What did you do right and wrong during the previous year? What do you need to do differently this coming new year? What are the monsters that can block your way and how do you overcome them?

So now, you are resolved to make positive changes. Positive changes are growth-producing and constructive. And that requires total commitment. You've got to be firm, resolute, determined. In such ways, you mould the shape of your destiny.

Of course, there could be pain along the way. But don't be afraid of it! Rather embrace it as part of the price to pay to live life to the fullest. The world is full of people who missed their destiny and greatness because they would not pay the price of pain. No pain, no gain!

This coming new year, focus on things that will make you a better person. By focusing on the positive, there's reason and energy to persist. You will gain well being, a healthy life span, blessings, and so on.
