Poetry
A wandering wind whispers on the waters,
a drowsy dawn dreams of coming day,
a misty morning mingles with the moonlight,
and sleep to rising consciousness gives way.
I hear the voice of God within my spirit
luring me to linger in His love,
calling me to come into His chamber,
drawing me to dwell with Him above.
Waking from wistful dreams of wonder,
to a reality more real and profound,
I marvel at the mystery and meaning
of God indwelling me, a mortal bound.
Long I’ve lived without this lovely leisure,
striving to subdue my subtle sin,
instead of resting in the richness of His favor,
and the peace His perfect presence brings within.
Now this newfound knowing of my Savior
fills me with the fruit of faith revived,
as I depart the deathly drought of darkness,
leaping toward the liquid light of life.
