Rags to Riches

Are you still wearing spiritual rags,
Becoming defeated in your walk?
Is satan devouring your worship,
With his nasty lies and idle talk?

Turn over those rags to Jesus,
He’s prepared a brand new garment.
It already has your name on it,
And that old devil cannot harm it!

When Jesus gives us His salvation,
He doesn’t expect us to just stop there.
We are to grow in the love of His word,
And daily, offer to Him our prayers.

So, gird your loins with God’s holy truth,
Bind His righteousness on your breast.
Shod your feet with the gospel of peace,
Now you’re almost fully dressed!

Then put on the helmet of your salvation,
Wear the sword of the Spirit as your shield.
Then you‘ll go straight from rags to riches!
The power in your faith will be revealed.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood;
But against the demons of higher places.
They want nothing but to bring us back,
To the old spiritual rags that disgrace us.

But be of good cheer for Christ has overcome,
More than conquerors through Him, we are!
So get all dressed up, for worthy is the King,
From rags to riches, He’s brought you so far!
