The Blessed Hope In Me

Meandering across the quiet, early day of dawn,
Vibrant streams of sunlight spray o’er a green lawn.
Sparkling diamonds dance on blades of grass,
Hues of orange and purple in blue skies amass.

Billowing puffs of cotton flow gracefully above,
As I breathe in springtime, a fragrance of love.
Songs of praise are chirped from birds in trees.
Each one announcing his gratitude for the breeze.

What beauty our Creator has given us to enjoy,
What powerful a witness creation does employ.
Stop and smell the roses, breathe in God’s love,
For it’s in the simple things we are reminded of;

Our life is but a vapor and soon will pass away,
Our mortal vessels will behold a bright new day.
In a land where earthly beauty can never compare,
To the beauty of a majestic homeland in the air!

This land called heaven, I’ve set my hopes on high,
On that shore I’ll meet Him, in the sweet by and by.
He’ll gather me unto Himself and say “welcome home”
“Enter into the Promise Land, never more to roam.”

Will this be the day our precious Lord shall return?
That blessed hope inside me is beginning to burn.
I want to see sweet Jesus in all His glory divine,
To touch His face, to hold His nail-scarred hand in mine.
