Why Worry When You Can Pray?

The original word for “worry” in the New Testament usually translated care or anxiety has the meaning of “to tear or rip apart” and that is exactly what worry does.

Worry can affect us physically and emotionally; it saps our energy and can drive us to an early death if we allow it to take control of our life.

Worry fills us with anxiety about the future. It is definitely a destructive emotion.

God never intended us to live our lives anxiously worrying about the future. He never intended us to live our lives under a constant dark cloud of depression and despair. He never intended us to live our lives continually haunted by a sense of failure and rejection.

Jesus emphasised in so many ways by asking us not to be anxious about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. (Matthew 6:34).

But the good news is it need not stay that way.
Take it to the Lord in Prayer and seek refuge in His Word.
God’s strength wants to be perfect in your weakness.

When you call on Him, the giver of wisdom and insight will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3).

So give worry no place in your life. With prayer and supplication make your request known to your Heavenly Father and cast all your cares on the Lord for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7).

Be encouraged that He has good plans for your life. His plan for you is to give you a hope and a good future. (Jeremiah 29:11).

God Bless!
