Laughter The Best Medicine

Laughter affects every cell in our body. When we laugh, our immune system is stimulated, so is our creativity. In addition, we tend to let down our defences and become more open and transparent.

Laughing – that is, being joyous in heart - is of God. God’s Word declares that a joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17: 22).

The joy spoken of in the Bible, however, is not external joviality; it is an internal quality that is not dependent upon your situation.

True joy results from recognising that a Sovereign Omnipotent God lives inside of us – and He can enable us to smile, no matter what.

Sometimes being able to smile is a matter of switching our focus from our circumstance to our blessings.

Most of us have good health, a place to live, and somebody to love us.
What about wonderful children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, husband and wife? Or consider things you appreciate not having, such as disabilities, pain, danger or fear.

Every one of us should have a thankful heart and our gratefulness will yield cheerfulness.

Remember that children of God should be living testimony that, when Jesus comes into our life, there is reason to rejoice.

Start living today with confidence and with the full assurance that God is at work in your life. He is a faithful God and will continue to provide all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19).

May the joy of the Lord continue to be your strength.

God bless!

I loved this article. It has such a positive attitude. We should learn to smile more often and spread that happiness to all those who are around us. Keep making everybody smile!
