Around and around we go,
on the Merry go Round of Life!

Get up and out the door, hurry, hurry, no time for a smile or kind word. The
boss gets irate when I am late.

The day starts with burned toast and coffee or nothing at all. Kids howling for
attention, spouse complaining. Don't they know my life is all about them?
Junior wants a new bike and Susie says her clothes are out of style. We need a
new car, and the house is too small.

Around and around we go, on the merry go round of life.

The phone is ringing and the grass needs mowing. The
house is a mess. Oh, no here comes the preacher. I should have stayed in bed!

He will never understand I just do not have time to go to church. There is, only
so many hours in a day and so much I have to get done.

Around and around we go, on the 'Merry Go Round of Life.'

It's Sunday again, but there is no time to relax and sleep in, no time to listen to
the preacher or sing a hymn. I must mow that grass, the neighbors are talking.

Around and around we go, on the merry go round of life.

The kids are on their own, the spouse doing their own thing. The house is
quiet, no chatter, no clatter, no smell of food cooking. There is no one to share
the time with. There is no one to remember, the good times with.

There were no good times, only hurry, hurry, another day, another dollar. Why
did I not see what I was missing? Not only did I miss the past, I missed the
future too. I had no time for my family, now they have no time for me, because they are on that same merry go round.
If I could only turn back the time, I would get off, that merry go round and put you and my family first.
Please, Lord, forgive me and help me stop this merry go round for others, so they can enjoy their children and your fellowship. I am so sorry Lord I wasted so many years.
