Have you ever noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two
hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?

Do you remember the song, "Little Things Mean a Lot?" Do you
ever take time to marvel at the little things in life like the image
of a face on a yellow pansy or the perfect symmetry in the collage
of colors on the wings of a butterfly? Do you marvel at God's
creation?

In nature, God has placed His fingerprint everywhere -- like
giving you two eyes so you have depth perception or two ears so
you have direction perception. He gives the birds a sharp beak so
they can drill for bugs or worms. He gave the woodpecker an
insulated brain so he wouldn't get an Excedrin headache.

He also gave us a brain different from animals so that we can
reason, think and learn. It's a shame that so many Christians put
their brain in "Park" and let someone else do all the thinking for
them. That's risky. Seek out The Word on your own and then
supplement it with thought from others, but letting someone else
digest all your Christian thought for you is as risky as putting
your car on cruise control while you read the morning paper -- a
wreck is likely to follow.

Psalm 130:5 (nlt) says, "I am trusting in the Lord; yes, I am
counting on Him. I have put my hope in His Word." And you
can do that -- it's incredibly safer than trusting any thing else.
