We've been praying for rain, but I guess we got too insistent -- He
sent hard water -- we had the first hail in the 12 years we've been
here.

What do you do when your boat begins to sink? You paddle
furiously, swim or sink. Right now, some of you are feeling like
your personal boat is sinking. You can determine to try every
known method to keep afloat, you can enlist the aid of the Lord,
or you can give up and go down with your boat.

Some folks aren't very good at solving their problems, which is
why they may have a problem in the first place. Judge Judy's
program is loaded with people who simply don't take responsi-
bility for their actions. A true Christian should have the moral
grit to take responsibilty for their actions. God expects that.

I've heard people say, "I'll just turn it all over to the Lord." Don't
ever say that until you've done absolutely everything on your own
that you can. Don't use God for a dumping ground. He's there to
help you when you have exhausted your own resources, but don't
use His resources as an excuse for inaction on your part. This
may tend to sound like I'm scolding, but in fact, I'm encouraging
you to use God's help to pull your life together. It isn't any fun
living on the ragged edge of problems, and I don't believe God
would want that for you.

Romans 5:3 (nlt), "We can rejoice, too, when we run into trials
and problems, for we know that they are good for us -- they help
us learn to endure." If we don't learn from a mistake, we just
wasted a good mistake.
