Police in Pennsylvania interrogated a suspect by placing a metal
colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a copy
machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in the copier, and
police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect
wasn't telling the truth. Believing the lie detector was working,
the suspect confessed. We should have tried that with Saddam.

What is the biggest problem in the world today? Is it Sars, Aids,
poverty, greed? In my opinion, the biggest problem in the world
is religion. It's odd that the one thing that should bring peace is
the one thing that hinders it most.

It's sad that the one religion, Christianity (please no letters about
the old cliché that Christianity isn't a religion), if it's principles
could be followed, would solve many of the world's ills. Yet, we
seem to be the most despised by the other religions of the world.

When you look at it, you'll see some religion behind most of the
world's conflicts like 9-11. The entire Arab world hates America
because they equate America with a Christianity that without
question supports Israel. Even within Iraq there are scrapping
religious factions that hinder progress toward a new and free Iraq.

Even in America, non-agreement between factions of Christianity
keep us from presenting a united front. We war within ourselves
over issues that are secondary and should not divide us. If we
could provide a united push that would present the positives of
Christianity to a world in turmoil, perhaps we could make a dent
in the world's ills, but some churches don't even give very much
toward world-wide evangelism efforts. Missions like Christian
Aid that support evangelism efforts around the world have to
scrape and scrap for every precious dollar that they invest in souls
while we at home spend millions for our padded pews and
state-of-the-art P.A. systems so we can be entertained. Shame on
us.

Jesus said in Matt 9:37 (niv), "...The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few" -- so are the givers. Are you giving to worthy
groups attempting to bring Christ to the world?
