So many children of today do need a voice
someone to care about their hopes
For it's not always in what we perceive
that all want to destroy their lives in dope
I wonder did anyone stop to ask-
why are you acting that way
Did they once take time to find out why
they don't want to face another day
It's wrong to say to them, that you don't care
about whatever they have to go through
and say to them they won't mount to anything
this is not they what they hear from you
Oh if but only you could see into their hearts
the many wars they are fighting within
Then you wouldn't be so quick to give them up
but try to bring their hurts to an end
all across America and so many other places
kids are dying one way or other
Some have no father and some no mother
nor even a sister or brother
Some children out there are raising themselves
no one to cook for them a nice hot meal
Mom has her carrer, dads out with the boys
it's like saying to them it's no big deal
No it's not wrong in having a good job
nor for dad to have, his little free time
long as the child's not forsaken and abandoned
which can also cause damage to any mind
It doesn't take all day to say I love you
or make sure everything's is going right
For something could had happened on their day
that had them to carry it through the night
No wonder God said to suffer the little children
and it mattered not what age they be
He said forbid them not to come unto him
and in his word it's plain to see
So let us pray that God stirs our hearts
and take time to reach out to them
For it's left up to us to give them hope
in these times when it's dark and dim
