I did weigh this cost on my heart scale
and I have truly sought it out;
By searching the scriptures through and through
so I'll know what I write about

In proverbs 9;18, I read this verse
that wisdom is better than weapons of war
Verse 8;11 says wisdom is better than rubies
and I believe in life I'd carry us far

9;10 the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
24;23 these things also belong to the wise
15;2 the tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright
so I have no need to prove otherwise

8;1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put
forth her voice?
3;5 says trust in the Lord with all thine heart
and lean not unto thine own understanding
and I try very hard to do this part

Proverbs 1;2 to know wisdom and instruction;
to perceive the words of understanding
1;3 to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice
and judgement and equity
and this holds true without force and demanding


10;8 the wise in heart will receive commandments
11;25 the liberal soul shall be made fat
16;20; he that handleth a matter wisely shall find good
and I truly need a whole lot of that

Now these words were pen by a man of wisdom
that I'm quiet sure had favor with God
Nor, I wouldn't have read it in his words
and to let it abide on the inside
