Which I is Yours?

If you took a good look at the letter “I”,I mean with its broad base, flat top and the narrow stem in between. What would you see? Well, I did so sometime ago and I heard this letter speak to me of the stages of man's life...
Stage 1: Foundation laying ceremony, ceremonial ‘cos there’s freedom to roam about. U can taste life’s various options considering what to do, deciding to stoop or stand, twist or turn, bend or be beaten, bow or be burnt, to lie low or leap high. It’s a time of ignorance and innocence where nothing is expected of u. After all u’re green and just starting to grow.
Stage 2: The stem phase, lean, and narrow. It’s a time of seed sowing, of investment of time and talents. Everyman on his own standing by the choices he has made. Treading the path he’s chosen. Those that have failed come to dissuade him. Those on other roads come to distract him, those that are undecided come to delay him. If his heart flirts he’ll fall, if his heart be fixed he’ll fly…all alone. Fly on his own or fall on his own. For he is growing and he must take charge.
Stage 3: The plateau phase. You’ve breasted d tape, roofed your castle and taken a bow. You’ve hung your boots and dropped your armor, no more a contender now a spectator. It’s time for stock taking, a post-mortem if you wish. It’s either u’re reaping or weeping, rejoicing or regretting. You are now at the top, chronologically if not for any other reason. Do the “green ones” envy you or pity you? Can u point them to your stem phase and say “do as I did”.
Probably u are thinking U can still right your wrongs. Maybe life’ll give us a second chance… maybe not.
