WHY FORGIVE ?

When I forgive,
I let go, I turn away, and I move on.
I make a mole-hill out of a mountain.
I reduce a mile into an inch.

When I forgive,
It’s bcos I know we all need to be forgiven.
For erring is characteristic of humanity.
As forgiveness is of divinity.

But when I refuse to forgive,
It’s a sign of spiritual myopia.
Too soon have I forgotten
Where I started from and where I’m heading

My refusal to let go
Makes me a carrier of a burden
For which I expect pity
But desire no help

I’ve left my wound open,
Thinking my assailant will die of guilt.
I’ve drunk poison,
And am waiting for someone else to die!
