What does E-Cheer mean -- electronic cheer; ecclesiastical cheer;
evangelical cheer; easy cheer -- you name it. Some expect this
message to be high-toned bubbly cheer every morning. But how
many different ways can you say, "Cheer Up" without becoming
boring?

Sometimes instead of "Cheer-Up" we need to say "Listen Up"
and attend to other facets of life -- like "Get Up" and do
something about it. I don't know what that is for you, but we
probably have matters to which we need to attend but have been
delaying. I don't know what that is for you, but I'll bet you know.
For me, it is to get out into my shop and start making sawdust
again.

Do you know that different woods can be easily identified by the
smell of the sawdust? Walnut, for example has a totally different
and unique smell compared to Oak. The uncle from whom I
learned woodworking started his woodworking career by making
cedar chests. Cedar has a delightful odor all of it's own.

People can also be identified by a certain vocal characteristic, a
manner of walking, certain actions, etc., but the best way to be
known would be by our character. Character is what we really
are. Reputation is what people think we are. Hopefully, the two
are relatively close.

Psalm 89:8 (nlt) says, "O Lord God Almighty! Where is there
anyone as mighty as you, Lord? Faithfulness is your very
character." I hope that last sentence can be said of us. When
someone says of us, "He/She is a real character, I hope they mean
it in the nicest sense.
