It's been a long time since we heard these words
coming from the hearts to the lips
Beautiful tunes saying, God shed his grace on thee
now it's zip the mouth, so they won't slip
O' America the beauty has it, become distinct?
no more praise do they dare to speak
Some have shut the mouths of those who once did
and causing grace to spring a leak
Even the song of Liberty, has lost it's meaning
It hardly gets to be sung anymore
If given a chance, watch them run for cover
to hide behind some big door
What happen to the words that we proudly did hail
where did it go and I do wonder why?
When these were words that so many did sing
but no longer can we hear this cry
We raise our flags high on certain appointed days
oh how some do go all out their way
But when it comes to God, we throw his name out
not one mention of him on that day
Almost you better not say, let us have prayer;
before we go to do this and that,
Why is it we can use him when we want to win
and when we are behind the bat
The next thing you'll know, he'll be off the flag
already happening in some functions as it is;
No wonder our schools are now, like a war zone
because we don't want God in our biz;
Look at the game stadiums, it even has unrest
an uproar from the start to the end
Does it matter who's the blame or what their fame
what does matter is who will win
Well America you are putting out your beauty
we left the God of grace, and mercy out
Oh thou beautiful skies have now grown dark
and of him they no longer care about
People want to blame him for so much destruction
all they had to do was read the book;
It was told from the beginning, what would happen
but so many are afraid to look
Thefore no one is excluded from troubles
for this is, a part of life
But you can get some help while your in it;
if we ask God to remove the strife
Take a look at the violence in every home town
but not only there, it's everywhere we go
Yes, it leaves a question, in what went wrong
but look around and you will know
We are now taking the place of the dogs and cats
scratching and biting each day and night
Even in the store no one seems to smile anymore
and if you speak, they might want to fight
God ask's us, how long must I hold my peace
when will they return to me and pray
So ask yourselves is he not being just to us all
by sending his grace, each time our way
O' America the beauty, don't let it run out
Don't be foolish by rejecting his name
but take your pride and put it under your feet
Let the songs once sung, stay the same
We have men and women that's giving their lives
for a country that is now going bad;
What help are we to them if we take prayer away
O' why can't you see, this will be sad
So again if we want to keep having God's favor
don't do things that will make him stop
We knew from the start, in what was right
and it made this country to stay on top

America, America, God Shed His Grace On Thee;
and we should always give him praise
For being a country that is free
