It seemed like the perfect job for me. I had just started my new job at the coffeehouse and I was a good worker. I strived to be honest, reliable and responsible in everything I did. After all, the bible said that we should do everything unto the glory of God. But an honest mistake caused me to get fired.


I missed my shift the previous Thursday night. When I looked at my schedule, I saw a lot of blanks and since I usually get some weekends off, I thought I was off that day. But I was actually scheduled for that day. On Easter Sunday I had to come in for work but luckily I could still attend morning service at church. But when I got there I was told that because I missed my Thursday shift I was fired. I was understandbly disappointed but not discouraged.

Sometimes setbacks can lead us to greater things that God has for us. I would've liked to keep my job but it didn't happen that way. I feel that writing is my gift and God will bless me to not only earn a living from it, but to touch many lives through my words. I don't know where God is leading me next but I know it'll be according to His perfect will.

Whether my manager fired me out of spite or not is out of my hands. All I can do now is trust God with my future and see what he wants me to do next.
