Every once in a while, I think back to when I was a child.

Before I went to sleep, my mother would tuck me into bed and kiss me on the forehead.
I remember the sound of her voice as she sang and my heart would be enveloped with a warmth and security that I couldn’t explain.

No winter was too cold.
No storm too strong.
No pain too deep.
It would all be OK.

As I grew, I learned, struggle after struggle that life’s problems could not be so easily whisked away.

Sometimes the winters would be too cold.
The storms too strong.
The pain very deep.

With no ones hand to hold I felt as if my life had no purpose and no direction.

Then Christmas finally arrived, the child was born… in me!

Through the word of God I believed what I had learned so many years before, and God opened up the door to so many new possibilities.

God’s gift of life, born on a lonely night in a stable over 2000 years ago gave birth to a new song. A song of comfort and of peace.

All my life I thought I was waiting for winter to end, when all I really needed was a hand to hold through the cold dark times.

I learned that peace truly can happen on the earth.
Peace is already here for those who seek Him.
And for those who truly seek, they will find peace…
Where it was always meant to be…
In their hearts.
