O' thou great God of mercy
that visits the widows in their distress
His loving arms does cup their hearts
for to give it his rest

O' his love is proven throughout their days
their nights he fills with his peace
His comfort does move in the darkest hours
to let his power be released

He pours down on them his wings of grace
so they can hold them oh so tight
And his truth surrounds, their very souls
to help make their burdens light

When their going through their loneliness
his voice will speak to them
To let them know, that they have a friend
and that one, is truly him

He will calm them in their idle moments
take and fill it with some hope
For he cares very much about their lives
and is ther to help them to cope

With all those things that try to interfere
of the joy that he gave within
And when troubles come, to try to wipe it out
he'll let a little more descend

O' great God full of mercy and truth
entreating kindness to the widows of today
You did supply their needs with hands of love
yes, you've kept them in every way
