we can refuse to live with bitterness and hate
by saying it's no longer my cup of tea
Won't drink those things that can bind me up
for God's love it can set free

Tell the tears you've shed you won't drink no more
every little drop you will pour out
And you'll take the cup that's filled with love
for this is what God's all about

You don't have to live eating sour lemons
don't have to let them touch your lips
And no more swallowing, of pains and sorrows
rid of all, those bitter drips

The Lord still is giving out new beginnings
don't have to live a life of deapair
He gave the best drink that can fill the heart
and he has a lot to spare

Because this cup he gives will never run dry
but, each day he'll add some more
So to satify the longings of the soul
and you can bank on this for sure

That cup of unforgiving it can kill within
and drain the very life out of you
Because once it goes down into one's heart
I'd damage it through and through

God's Cup it comes with love and forgiveness
so that it can fill your life with light
The wrong ones will keep you filled with't darkness
that will enfold you like the night

God doesn't give us life to let it spill out
for that is not his cup of tea
His comes with joy, happiness and peace
it's not for sale, but it's free

Now in knowing all this we can't afford to miss
the cup full of promise's that he did fill
So tell the wounded heart, you accept his offer
a precious cup that will never spill

This cup of healing's is for the battle scars
so to touch you through and through
And they won't come back, accept you open them up
but it's all left up to you

Now the word may be bitter going down
but after that it will be so sweet
For everything God does it's for a good reason
and if we take it in I'd be a treat
