O' heart of mine stay meek and humble
bowed down at the Saviors feet
So his loving ways, become a part of you
and you'll never suffer defeat

O' precious soul of mine stay in the race
so that you can obtain
Run on with the right intentions
and not to judge or blame

There are requirements to meet in this race
one is, you got to treat others right
No plotting and killing to get some thrill
that will make you miss the flight

O' heart lay aside that jealousy and hate
tell malice, it's wrong and not right
Don't go picking up strife and envy ways
that will only make you fuss and fight

For in this kind of race you must unload
of things that will slow you down
But when you pick up love, kindness and forgiveness
I'd take you to a higher ground

O' soul encourage others in this race
be sweet to your fellow man
Don't ever be cold, but ask, for more grace
and then you will surly stand

O' heart if you do have some hang- ups
they don't have, to belong to you
For the Lord is willing to take them all
that is what his love can do

Don't forget to ask for a little more patience
and do ask for wisdom to climb aboard
Ask for knowledge and understanding to guide you
so evil your heart will not hoard

Lay aside weights that will hold you down
but to make you race be light
Then you will hear, well done my child
because you did what was right
